Another Ocean Recovery Success – Sentimental Ring Found in Waist-Deep Water at the Jersey Shore
It was a beautiful afternoon on the Jersey Shore when Megan reached out in distress — she had just lost a very sentimental ring in the ocean and was hoping I could help.

After several passes and cross-checking Megan’s photos and timestamps, everything lined up perfectly — but still no signal.
The waves were rough, and a strong rip current made it difficult to search beyond the shell drop. After taking a break, I explained the conditions to Erin and my wife, who was assisting. I seriously considered ending the search for the night — a major storm was expected by sunrise — but something told me to give it one more try.
As the tide pulled back and the surf briefly calmed, I got back into the water and focused my search just below the shell line. Then it happened — a loud, clean signal rang out from my detector. I dug in with my scoop and came up with it:

I shouted in excitement as Erin came running over in disbelief. She immediately called Megan, screaming into the phone, “He found it! I can’t believe it! Get down here!” The joy and relief on that beach were unforgettable.
After a few photos and hugs, we said our goodbyes around 11 p.m. — soaked, sandy, tired… but absolutely thrilled.
